Magic Valley Gaming Convention coming to CSI’s Herrett Center

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — The inaugural Magic Valley Gaming Convention is set for Saturday at the College of Southern Idaho’s Herrett Center, running from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Organizers said they have attended gaming conventions in Utah and Idaho Falls for years before deciding southern Idaho should have one of its own.

More than 300 games will be available, ranging from familiar titles to lesser-known options. Attendees are also welcome to bring their own games.

Tournaments and door prizes are scheduled throughout the day. Board games donated by local businesses will be among the prizes.

Erin Godfrey, one of the event’s organizers, said the convention is about community and discovery.

“You just meet new people, meet friends, have a safe space that you can go and play games and learn new games,” Godfrey said. “And that’s why we like conventions because we can see what we like and what we don’t like before we have to spend the money on an expensive game.”

Admission is $20 for adults and $15 for youth. Children 10 and under are admitted free.
