BANGOR, Maine (WABI) – The community came together in Bangor to learn about why science is so important.
The Maine Science Festival got going March 25 and had their Exploration Stations event March 28.
The event is organized by the Maine Discovery Museum and brings together researchers and organizations from across Maine to build community excitement around science.
Stations were run by organizations like the University of Maine at Fort Kent, Idexx, and the Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Science amongst others.
Exhibitors said that the festival is a good opportunity to introduce science to the next generation.
Dr. Kennedy Rupert-Nason, and associate professor at the University of Maine at Fort Kent said “Science is really important to helping to ourselves and our planet healthy. And also, to empowering the next generation of people across many different professions.”
If you have not had the chance to go so far, the Maine Science Festival will be holding a scavenger hunt in downtown Bangor March 29.
