Man with multiple warrants in State of New Mexico arrested after traffic stop in Greece

GREECE, N.Y. — A 29-year-old man that State Police say had multiple outstanding warrants was arrested after being accused of having various drugs and a fake New York State temporary registration document.

State Police say just before 9 a.m. Wednesday, troopers stopped a car that had no front or rear license plate on State Route 390. They also say the car seemed to have a temporary in-transit permit on the rear window.

After a records check, State Police say the car had no valid registration on file. They also say further investigations showed the driver, Brian Lopez, had various outstanding warrants out of the State of New Mexico, with full extradition authorized, for a conditional release violation related to “dangerous drugs.”

Lopez was taken into custody. State Police say they found and seized various drugs, including fentanyl and cannabis products, and a fake registration document.

Lopez was charged with various drug-related charges, criminal possession of a forged instrument, fugitive from justice, and multiple vehicle and traffic law violations. He was processed and brought to the Monroe County Jail.

State Police say the State of New Mexico will extradite Lopez on the outstanding warrants.
