(KPLC) – McNeese State University’s Speech and Debate Team has claimed an international title in Athens, Greece, winning the inaugural Content Creation Scavenger Hunt at the International Forensics Association tournament.
The award recognizes the team’s strength in content creation on an international stage.
The victory comes after years of inactivity for the program following the COVID-19 pandemic and Hurricanes Laura and Delta. The team was relaunched a couple of years later and quickly returned to competition, earning multiple awards at a national tournament in Arizona.
The program is led by Director Tryfon Boukouvidis and Assistant Forensics Director Morgan LeBleu.
Among those who competed were Anushka Khanal, Coty Catron, Emmitt Goins, Salisha Felix, and Braylon Fuselier.

Tune in to 7News Live at Five on Sunday as we will be speaking with team members and coaches to hear how they revived the program, built their winning content, and what this international recognition means for McNeese.
