Meghan Markle Wore the Funnel Jacket Trend

Celebrities, they’re just like us: Meghan Markle might be attending events with the World Health Organization, but she’s doing so in a really chic (and affordable) funnel-neck jacket from Zara. The Duchess of Sussex was spotted in Jordan wearing a sleek all-black outfit that she paired with the pretty under-$200 layer. Her light brown coat has since sold out, but, don’t click away just yet—I found the style in a different shade to shop below. 

Markle’s look is proof that, sometimes, the jacket is the outfit. The eye-catching detail of her look was the cool contrast stitching and silhouette of her funnel-neck jacket. Under it she simply styled a black Bleusalt turtleneck (her go-to brand for basics) with matching trousers and suede pumps. 

The on-trend style might seem like a gimmick, but it’s actually very practical. In spring, when the weather can go from sunny to breezy and overcast by noon, the jacket’s high-neck shape can provide extra warmth. I know what you’re already thinking: The loose collar shockingly isn’t restricting, and with most styles, it can be folded down or worn unbuttoned. Max out two spring trends for one with this funnel-neck trench coat. You can grab it in classic beige, but I think the chocolate looks especially sophisticated. I’d style this like Markle with neutral trousers and a sweater.
