The Detroit Metro Athletic Conference Silver Division is heading to back to Warren for the third year in a row.
The Warren Michigan Math & Science Academy captured the league title Thursday by beating Farmington Hills Huda School for the second time in a 10-day period, topping the Heat 61-42 to win the title outright once again.
Junior Devin Stitt scored 21 points with seven rebounds to led the Cougars. Sophomore Cheldon McCain added 16 points and 10 rebounds, junior Jacob Carter had 14 points and seven assists, while junior AJ Dillapree supplied 11 points and five rebounds. MMSA, just in its fifth season of varsity competition, improved to 16-5 overall and finished 11-1 in conference play.
UTICA 51, GROSSE POINTE NORTH 47 >> Utica trailed the Norsemen by 13 points early in the fourth quarter before switching trends and closed the game with a 19-2 run to topple North in this MAC crossover game. Alex Bosilkovski scored 16 points to go with five rebounds and five assists to pace the Chieftains. Malik Cross Nelson scored 13 points with seven rebounds and Hayden Hirmiz scored 12 points and eight rebounds for Utica (13-9). Grosse Pointe North (10-12) was led by Aiden Brown with 13 points and Cole Champine with 12 points.
ROMEO 62, WATERFORD KETTERING 56 >> Romeo captured just its fifth win of the season Thursday with this six-point non-league victory over Kettering.
MADISON HEIGHTRS LAMPHERE 71, BERKLEY 68 >> Lamphere wrapped up the regular season with this three-point win over Berkley to move to 19-3 overall. Mychael Foster scored 28 points to lead the Rams.
HARBOR BEACH 83, MEMPHIS 40 >> Harbor Beach sealed up the Big Thumb Conference Black Division title with this win Thursday. The Pirates led 22-9 after the first quarter and went on a 24-10 run in the second period for a 46-19 lead at the half and never looked back. Harbor Beach (19-3, 12-0) outscored the Yellowjackets 37-21 in the second half. Matt Geiger led Harbor Beach with 17 points, Skiler Kruse added 16 points and Andrew Kabban contributed 15 points for the Pirates. Taylin Yoes scored 23 points, Jeremiah Tomollilo added eight points and Landen Morris had five points for Memphis (3-18, 0-12).
WARREN COUSINO 69, WARREN MOTT 30 >> Cousino dominated this all-Warren affair by recording this 39-point MAC crossover triumph. Nic Farr scored 17 points and Brandon Cade added nine points for the Patriots. Chris Whitaker finished with six points for Mott.
