A Midtown Sacramento music venue is gearing up for its second act.
Pat Kashani of Kash Hospitality Group—the team behind Citizen Capitol Craft House—is planning a new bar-and-restaurant concept called Midtown Live, slated to debut in the former Goldfield Trading Post space at 1630 J St. The news was shared in an Instagram update from Jim Amen, founder and CEO of Amen Real Estate.
In the video, Amen describes Midtown Live as a high-energy destination centered on live music, great food, and a full bar, designed to keep the Central City buzzing well into the night. While specific menu details haven’t yet been announced, the concept is expected to lean into crowd-friendly bar fare alongside a robust drink program.
The project breathes new life into the roughly 13,000-square-foot space, which previously housed Goldfield Trading Post and its adjoining taproom. Goldfield officially closed last November, with its owners citing the growing challenges of sustaining smaller live music venues in Sacramento. Since then, the building has remained vacant.
According to Amen, the new ownership group has already signed a lease. An official opening timeline has not yet been shared, but more details are expected in the coming months. Stay tuned as Midtown Live prepares to turn the volume back up in Midtown.
