Milford movie theater temporarily locked down due to gun scare


MILFORD, Ohio (WXIX) – Milford police say they responded to a report of a man carrying a rifle approaching a movie theater Saturday evening.

The Milford Police Department says around 5:25 p.m. Saturday, it received multiple calls about a man with a gun walking toward the Cinemark Movie Theater.

Milford police responded to the scene with the Indian Hill and Mariemont Police Departments and made contact with the suspect.

Officers say the man was fully cooperative, and they determined the gun in question to be an airsoft-style “BB” gun.

The nearby Cinemark was placed on a temporary lockdown as officers worked to confirm that there was no ongoing threat.

Police say there was never an active threat.

The Milford Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident and says they are working with the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office to determine possible charges.
