Music at the McFaddin’s Friday, SETX Symphony ‘Destiny, Dance Sat.


Beaumont is serving up a double dose of dancing with two musical events happening back-to-back this weekend.

The McFaddin-Ward House Museum will host “Music at the McFaddins’” this Friday, March 27, featuring Houston-based band The StringBenders in a free outdoor concert on the museum lawn starting at 6:30 p.m.. The five-piece group will perform a lively mix of country, classic rock, and Zydeco favorites, showcasing more than 25 years of musical experience. Guests are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets, and refreshments to enjoy the evening at the historic Beaumont landmark, with gates opening at 6 p.m.

The next night, the Symphony of Southeast Texas will present “Destiny, Dance, and Spirit,” the final concert of its 2025–2026 “Symphonic Odyssey” season, on Saturday, March 28 at 7:30 p.m. at the Julie Rogers Theatre. The performance will feature the SOST Chorus, soloists Adriana Hutcheson and Lara Strawther, and musicians from Lamar University, with a program including works by Verdi, Rutter, Adams, and Respighi. Tickets start at $36, and the evening will also include a pre-concert performance by local pianist Thomas Furlow.

Both Sarah Parker with the McFaddin-Ward House and Maestro Chelsea Tipton, II with the Symphony of Southeast Texas talked about their events which is sure to get audiences moving this weekend.
