Nativity picks up first win in blowout fashion – Pottsville Republican Herald

Wilkes-Barre 14, Pottsville 8

The Pottsville Crimson Tide fell to Wilkes-Barre on Friday afternoon, 14-8, despite leading 6-4 after four innings.

The Wilkes-Barre bats scored at least one run in each inning against the Crimson Tide, including 10 runs over the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings.

Overall, Wilkes-Barre collected nine hits and six walks in the win.

For Pottsville, the Crimson Tide bats were strong as well, with nine hits and seven walks resulting in eight runs.

Brody Hess was 2-for-2 in the game with three runs batted in. Max Clews also had a strong day, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. Dom Rynard and Landon Trout both had a pair of hits as well.

Softball

Nativity, 16, Lincoln Leadership Academy 1

Nativity exploded for 11 runs in the first inning in a 16-1 win over Lincoln Leadership Academy on Friday afternoon.

Lauren Clark was 2-for-2 in the game with three RBI, while Chloe Covell and Macie Rushannon both drove in a pair of runs as well.

Covell also got the start for Nativity on the mound, striking out seven in her three innings while allowing two hits.
