Maxey was challenged with coaching two dogs through an agility obstacle course. The first dog he guided was Howie, who momentarily lost focus after Maxey dangled a toy.
The 2024 NBA Most Improved Player regrouped and with his second attempt his new furry friend finished the course with ease.
It was a light-hearted moment for Maxey, who is a proud dog dad of three. Apollo, Aries, and Arrow have played an important role in his life, especially during some of the 25-year-old’s most difficult times.
On Christmas Eve in 2021, Maxey’s new home caught on fire according to ESPN.com. He shared that his dog, Apollo, stayed close and comforted him during the recovery process.
