The Toronto Raptors delivered one of the most dominant stretches in recent NBA history, ripping off a 31-0 run against the Orlando Magic, the longest unanswered scoring run in the play-by-play era.
The sequence flipped the game early. After a tight start, trailing 20-14, the Raptors exploded following Orlando’s first timeout with 4:04 left in the first quarter. Jamal Shead and RJ Barrett kept the pressure on at the free-throw line, while Sandro Mamukelashvili sparked the run with perimeter shooting.

From there, it snowballed. Mamukelashvili knocked down another three. Scottie Barnes added two dunks. AJ Lawson joined in with a three-pointer. By the time Jakob Poeltl finished inside, the score had ballooned to 45-20.
The run stretched across 7 minutes and 24 seconds of game time. Toronto shot 11-of-14 during that span, including 4-of-5 from three-point range, while going a perfect 7-of-7 from the free throw line. Their defense fueled everything, forcing seven steals and constant turnovers.

Orlando had no response. The Magic went 0-of-7 from the field, missed all four three-point attempts, committed 12 turnovers, and racked up six fouls during the same stretch. Every possession broke down before it could develop.

Paolo Banchero finally ended the drought with a basket at the 9:42 mark of the second quarter, making it 45-22. By then, the damage was done.
The Raptors carried that momentum into halftime, leading 70-43.
The 31-0 burst also set a new benchmark. It surpassed the previous record held by the Dallas Mavericks, who recorded a 30-0 run against the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2023.

Runs like this are extremely rare in the NBA, and unless there is a massive comeback by the Magic, the Raptors will cruise to another win.
