MASSACHUSETTS — From massive layoffs at a meat packaging plant to a popular fashion and home brand coming to the Bay State, it’s been a busy week in Massachusetts business news.
Almost 200 Massachusetts employees will lose their jobs this year as Smithfield Packaged Meats Corp, a meat packaging facility in Springfield, is set to close.
The company filed a WARN notice with the state, claiming it would lay off 190 employees sometime between Apr. 10 and Sep. 11.
