DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) – Astrophysicist and bestselling science communicator Neil deGrasse Tyson is bringing his national tour to Duluth this fall. Tyson will present “An Astrophysicist Goes to the Movies – Part I” at the DECC Symphony Hall on November 9 at 7:30 p.m.
The show blends Hollywood storytelling with real-world science, offering a fast-paced look at what blockbuster movies get wrong and right about physics, space, and the universe.
According to event organizers, Tyson explores everything from Star Wars and Armageddon to Titanic, The Martian, and even “oddly scientifically literate beer commercials,” while also pulling in newer releases and classics that “you may not have known had any science in them at all.”
The DECC says they’re excited to host Tyson’s nationally known program. “We’re thrilled to welcome Neil deGrasse Tyson to the DECC. He has a rare gift for making the universe feel both enormous and deeply personal,” the organization said.
