New Albany picked for Ohio Life Science Training Center in biomanufacturing push

New Albany has been selected as the first site for the new Ohio Life Science Training Center, a biomanufacturing workforce initiative designed to serve the entire state.

The center will be located in the New Albany International Business Park and is described as a public-private partnership led by the Ohio Life Sciences Association and JobsOhio.

Supporters say the project aims to strengthen Ohio’s biopharma manufacturing talent pipeline and prepare Ohioans for in-demand careers in biotechnology and pharmaceutical manufacturing.

The life sciences industry employs more than 18,000 people in Central Ohio and 64,000 statewide.

New Albany City Council has approved investing $5 million over five years to support the project, complementing JobsOhio’s $30 million statewide investment.
