For me, there’s one entry on the must-see TV-music watch list next week: Jason Isbell playing with Drive-By Truckers for the first time in 18 years on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. I presume they’ll treat us to Decoration Day, the Isbell-penned title track from their recently reissued 2003 album. Fingers crossed they also play Outfit, Isbell’s other contribution to the LP, as an online bonus. More odd couples hitting the airwaves: AVTT/PTTN, Jack Johnson and Hermanos Gutiérrez, Kristen Chenoweth and Stephen Schwartz, Rufus Wainwright covering Kurt Weill, Jessie and Jeff Buckley (not together, obvi), double doses of Gwen Stefani, Mickey Guyton and Paul Anka, and two helpings of country Christmas carols.
