It took some time, but it looks like GameCube emulation has been improved on Nintendo Switch 2.
Previously, one of the major issues plaguing the service was input lag. Another problem cropping up was analog sensitivity. While latency still isn’t where some would like to be, the first issue has now been addressed.
This comes thanks to the latest app update, version 1.6.0. The patch went live with Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness joining the service last night.
Madao tested F-Zero GX on Nintendo Switch 2 with the latest update. We’re now hearing that the stick range has been improved and is much closer to the original range on GameCube.

This actually isn’t the only improvement we’re hearing about. According to LuigiBlood, the GameCube app now has an updated CRT shader that uses HDR. Initial reports on that indicate that “it feels a lot better and feels more coherent now.”
We’ll hopefully continue to see more improvements to the GameCube app on Nintendo Switch 2 over time. We know that additional titles are planned for the future, including Super Mario Sunshine and Pokemon Colosseum.
