Notes event features music and spoken word in Jaffrey


Music and spoken word will be featured at the next Notes event from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, at The Optimist Cafe, 16 Colls Farm Road, Jaffrey.

Hosted by Wendy Keith, the evening includes supper, salad and dessert at 6 p.m. Seating is limited.

Performers include Richard Doherty, known in the Monadnock region for supporting roles on guitar and bass with Folksoul Band, Ivychum, Tara Greenblatt Trio and Skip Philbrick Blues. He will present a rare solo performance of originals and improvisations.

Christopher Clauss, a performance poet, ocean explorer and science teacher, organizes Slam Free or Die and represents the New Hampshire poetry slam team. His work includes more than 60 publications.

Singer-songwriter Coretta Corbin Bliss will perform folk and traditional music. She founded Blackjack Crossing and Occasional Bliss and has released two albums.
