Indiana Fever Caitlin Clark couldn’t stop raving about Nikola Jokic during her appearance on the “NBA on NBC” telecast on Sunday, calling the Denver Nuggets star her favorite player to watch and the best overall player in the NBA.

After leading the Nuggets to a 116-93 win over the Golden State Warriors, Jokic was asked to respond to Clark’s praise.

“We have the same agent,” the three-time MVP said with a smile.

“That’s why she said it.”

Jokic’s classic response has since gone viral, with many fans praising the Serbian star’s humility and sense of humor.

Caitlin Clark Praises Nikola Jokic

Further to Clark’s point, she and Jokic are both represented by Excel Sports Management, the agency founded by prominent sports agent Jeff Schwartz.

Clark was a special guest on the “NBA on NBC” panel previewing Sunday’s double-header — Oklahoma City Thunder versus New York Knicks and Nuggets versus Warriors. During her appearance, she made her feelings clear about Jokic.

“I mean, there’s not many people that average a triple-double,” she said of Jokic, via The Denver Post.

“… You’re lucky enough to get maybe a couple of those in a season. He’s done it all year long in back-to-back years. So it’s pretty incredible, and honestly, he’s probably my favorite player to watch. And I think he’s the best player in the world.”

Clark, a floor general in her own right, then broke down how Jokic makes the game easier for his Nuggets teammates with his playmaking.

“You run two at him, he’s gonna make the right play,” she said on Jokic.

“He’s gonna find the right pass. There’s not many big players that can make the right pass, make the right read. He does it every single time, every single game. I think that’s what I love about him. Obviously, he has the scoring. But a lot of time, you go and check the box score, you watch the game, he’s taken five shots in the first half but he has 12 assists. So no matter what the other team does, he’s gonna find a way to tear you apart.”

Nuggets Keep Winning

As Clark alluded to, Jokic is set to average a triple-double for a second consecutive season, joining Russell Westbrook as the only player to do so. The 2023 NBA Champion is also set to become the first player since Wilt Chamberlain to lead the league in both assists (10.8) and rebounds (12.9), while also averaging 27.9 points.

Jokic added to his tally on Sunday, finishing with 25 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists, barely falling short of a fifth consecutive triple-double. Amid his scorching run, the Nuggets have won six games in a row to consolidate the fourth seed in the West.

The Nuggets (48-28) will look to extend their winning streak in an away clash against the Utah Jazz (21-54) on Wednesday before returning home for a primetime Friday night clash against Victor Wembanyama’s San Antonio Spurs (56-18).
