Ocarina of Time remake and new Star Fox game coming this year, no 3D Mario until 2027

Insider NateTheHate has provided an update on a variety of Nintendo projects, including rumors about Zelda remake, a new Star Fox game, and the lack of a 3D Mario in 2026. This comes from a new podcast published today.

It’s claimed that Star Fox will be making a return on Nintendo Switch 2 this summer. Apparently it’ll be a classic style Star Fox game, and “the visuals are supposed to be very good”. Online multiplayer is apparently in as well. This would make sense given the appearance of Fox McCloud in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

Also claimed is that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is getting a remake on Nintendo Switch 2. No further details were provided aside from a second half of 2026 launch window.

As for 3D Mario, don’t expect to see that this year. NateTheHate claims that it’s coming in 2027 instead.

For the rest of the year, Splatoon Raiders, Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave, Rhythm Heaven Groove, and a Nintendo Switch Sports (unclear if brand new or something like a Switch 2 Edition) are planned for this summer. Additionally, Pikmin 4 and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 are apparently getting Nintendo Switch 2 Editions in 2026.

NateTheHate has previously provided accurate information about Nintendo Directs. Speaking of which, we apparently won’t be getting a general presentation until June. Nintendo could use its Nintendo Today app and social media for smaller announcements and updates on previously-revealed titles.
