The draw for the 2025-26 Europa League knock-out round is now complete and Roma and Bologna have learned that they will come up against each other in the round of 16. Here are the full results of Friday’s draw.
The Europa League knock-out round draw took place at the UEFA Headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland on Friday, March 27, following the completion of the play-off round on Thursday evening.

All-Italian Europa League draw: Roma to face Bologna

Roma finished the Europa League league phase in eighth place, which was enough to secure an automatic spot in the round of 16, while Bologna finished 10th and have since beaten Brann 2-0 over two legs of the play-off round in order to qualify for the final 16.
Thursday’s draw resulted in an all-Italian tie in the round of 16, with Roma being drawn out of the hat to face Bologna over two legs in March. These matches will be played on March 12 and March 19. The exact times will be confirmed later on Friday evening. Here is the knock-out schedule in full:
Round of 16: March 12 and March 19

Quarter-finals: April 9 and April 16
Semi-finals: April 30 and May 7
Final: May 20.

Roma and Bologna have only faced each other once in Serie A so far this season, and not since the opening round of the 2025-26 season. That match resulted in a 1-0 victory for the Giallorossi at the Stadio Olimpico.
The two teams are also due to play each other again at the Dall’Ara in Serie A on April 26.
