Stars Rally for Jamaica and the Caribbean to Aid Victims of Hurricane Melissa
Fashion Minority Alliance (FMA), a leading non-profit, with a mission to work with next generation talent wishing to pursue careers within the fashion and beauty industries, announced today a Celebrity Preloved and Designer Archive Fashion Fundraiser in response to the devastating impact of Hurricane Melissa across Jamaica and the Caribbean.
Bringing together high-profile talent, fashion-forward changemakers, philanthropists, brands, and global icons, to raise urgent funds for victims of the disaster, the Raise The Roof Preloved Fashion Fundraiser will see style, culture and creativity take centre stage on Saturday, 6th December at The Roof Gardens, London, and feature a curated selection of one-off archival pieces and preloved personal fashion items donated by celebrated names from fashion, screen, music and sport.
Spearheaded by a committee of creative industry talents which includes Karen Cummings-Palmer, Susan Bender-Whitfield, Celia Sears, Daniella Helayel, Shanna Bent, Yasmin Mills, Rachael Barrett, Lorraine Coilins MBACP, and FMA founder Barbara Kennedy-Brown, the event will raise funds, with 100% of proceeds going toward rebuilding schools, providing educational and medical supplies and assisting the most vulnerable in the worst affected areas.
“This is fashion with purpose,” says Fashion Minority Alliance Chairman, Lord Reay, “We’re turning closets into catalysts for change. Whether or not our supporters have personal ties to the Caribbean, they all share a commitment to using their platforms for good and every aspect of this event is driven by compassion and purpose.”
