OpenAI has launched dynamic visual explanations in ChatGPT, a new artificial intelligence feature that allows users to interact with mathematical and scientific concepts through real-time visual models. The capability enables users to adjust variables and formulas directly, allowing diagrams and equations to update instantly as values change. For example, when exploring the Pythagorean theorem, users can modify the sides of a triangle and immediately see how the hypotenuse changes.
The feature currently supports more than 70 topics across mathematics and science, including compound interest, Coulomb’s law, exponential decay, Hooke’s law, linear equations, kinetic energy, and Ohm’s law. The interactive modules appear alongside ChatGPT explanations when users ask related questions.
OpenAI said the tool is available to all logged-in ChatGPT users and reflects a broader shift toward AI-driven learning experiences that encourage direct engagement with concepts. According to the company, more than 140 million people use ChatGPT weekly for math and science assistance. OpenAI plans to expand the feature to additional subjects over time.
