Origis Energy has secured approximately $545m in senior secured project financing to support three utility-scale solar developments in Ector County, Texas, US.
The funding, arranged with Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking and Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (Natixis CIB), will enable the construction and operation of the Rockhound Projects, which together are expected to deliver around 413MW of installed capacity.
Origis Energy expects all three facilities to become operational by summer 2026.
This transaction marks a further step in Origis Energy’s ongoing solar development efforts in West Texas.
Once completed, the broader complex will exceed 700MW of capacity, including the Swift Air Solar II and Swift Air Solar III projects, which achieved financial closure in 2025.
The credit facilities provided comprise a construction loan, a term loan, a tax credit bridge and letter of credit facilities, addressing both the building and operational stages of the initiative.
Origis Energy chief financial officer Alice Heathcote said: “This financing reflects the quality of the Rockhound portfolio and the confidence our capital partners place in Origis’ ability to execute complex, multi-project transactions with discipline and scale.
“Natixis and Santander have been exceptional partners throughout the process. Together, we are advancing resilient, long-term energy infrastructure in Texas while delivering meaningful economic benefits to local communities.”
Natixis CIB and Santander took on roles as joint underwriters, coordinating lead arrangers and co-green loan coordinators for the deal, while Natixis CIB additionally served as administrative agent. US Bank National Association served as collateral agent.
Representation for Origis Energy was provided by Latham & Watkins, with Reed Smith acting as local counsel.
