Orlando Magic guard Desmond Bane fined second time by NBA

For the second time this season, Desmond Bane has been fined by the NBA.

The Magic guard was hit with a $25,000 fine “for throwing the game ball with force into the spectator stands,” the league announced ahead of Thursday’s game between Orlando and Houston at Kia Center.

The incident occurred at the end of Orlando’s 110-109 victory over the Lakers at Crypto.com Arena on Tuesday.

After Los Angeles star LeBron James missed a game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer, Bane can be seen on video throwing the ball with one hand from the restricted area of the paint to the other end of the court.

The ball then hit the side of the 24-second shot clock above the basket and bounced onto fans sitting in the first row of the baseline.

Bane was previously fined $35,000 for “throwing the game ball with force at an opponent in an unsportsmanlike manner” during the fourth quarter of Orlando’s 106-100 loss at New York on Dec. 7.
