INDIANAPOLIS — Eddie White, the senior director of public relations for Pacers Sports and Entertanment and host of the Pacers’ and Fever’s post-game radio shows, has been named a hall-of-famer in his hometown.
The Luzerene County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame announced Friday that White will be one of 10 inductees to the hall-of-fame. They will be formally inducted on June 7 at a ceremony in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
White is a native of Wilkes-Barre and went to Bishop Hoban High School and Wilkes University. He’s been with Pacers Sports and Entertainment since 2010. Prior to that he spent two years working as co-host of a sports talk radio show on The Fan with former IndyStar columnist Bob Kravitz. White spent 12 years in team service and marketing for Reebok and Adidas, three years as director of public relations and marketing for the Miami Dolphins and four years as an assistant sports information director at Notre Dame.
According to the Hall of Fame news release, White “has worked 26 Super Bowls in various capacities for the NFL.” He has also performed public relations duties at the NBA and WNBA All-Star Games, the NBA and WNBA Finals, the NCAA men’s and women’s Final Four; PGA and LPGA events, MLB All-Star Games and major college bowls.
