Pacers hope return of Bennedict Mathurin brings confidence to end skid

DETROIT — Bennedict Mathurin is a long way from believing the Pacers’ season is lost, especially now that he’s playing again.

The Pacers have lost 13 of their first 14 games to take sole custody of the worst record in the NBA and the worst 14-game start in franchise history. However, Mathurin might note that he has only played in three of those defeats including one in which the Pacers took the defending NBA champion Thunder to double overtime. The fourth-year wing didn’t finish the second and he spent much of the third in foul trouble.
