Outdoor concerts have all the summer vibes in New Jersey, and this season the state’s live music scene is getting a major new addition. ParkStage, a large-scale open-air performance venue debuting in Freehold, will join well-known destinations like PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel and Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden.
The Count Basie Center for the Arts and Monmouth County Tourism will debut the new venue this summer at the East Freehold Park Showgrounds in Freehold, home to Monmouth County 4-H and the annual Monmouth County Fair.

The Lineup
Performances will include national and international musicians and comedians.

ParkStage will debut as part of the mega North to Shore Festival, which brings entertainment acts to various cities throughout the Garden State for three weeks in June. The first concerts at ParkStage will be part of N2S: Sublime with The Movement, Pepper and Codefendants on June 19; Dark Star Orchestra on June 20; and The Head and the Heart with special guest Wilderado on June 26.

Then, the ParkStage Summer Concert Series will be one of the signature activities in Monmouth County for America’s 250th birthday celebration, as well as the 100th anniversary of the Count Basie Center for the Arts.

Other acts signed so far include:
- Umphrey’s McGee, moe., Pigeons Playing Ping Pong and Lotus on June 21.

- Little Steven and The Disciples of Soul & Friends, as part of 250/The Concert, on July 3.

- The B-52s on July 11.
- Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit with special guest Patty Griffin on July 31.

- Lake Street Dive with special guest The Dip on August 1.
