Bilateral relations between Greece and Germany are stronger today than ever, said Economy and Finance Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis after meeting German Vice Chancellor Lars Klingbeil in Berlin.
“We discussed issues that concern both our bilateral relationship, the deepening of relations in terms of investments and bilateral trade, as well as broader European issues,” said Pierrakakis. He highlighted Greece’s economic progress, including low unemployment, high growth, rapid debt reduction and primary surpluses.
Pierrakakis also emphasized digital transformation and the Savings and Investment Union, saying removing barriers between EU member states is essential for growth. He noted the recent acquisition of the Athens Stock Exchange by Euronext and said that “together, Greece and Germany are deepening our bilateral relationship and investing together in a Europe that works even better and faster for the benefit of our people.”
