ZT details his best player prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Sunday night’s matchup between the Pistons and Clippers.
The NBA has a solid six games on the scoreboard this Sunday with a pair of late games in the Los Angeles area. The Clippers are at home at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood as they welcome in the Pistons. It should be a fun inter-conference matchup, so let’s examine the contest from the perspective of player prop bets to find some good plays on Sunday night on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Overall, the Pistons are narrow 3.5-point road favorites, while the game total is set at a below-average 224.5 points. This will be the first of two matchups between these teams this season.
The Clippers have won three in a row behind a surge from Kawhi Leonard over the last eight days and are 9-21 on the year. The Pistons are coming off a loss on Friday in Utah, but they won seven of their previous eight games and are still an impressive 24-7 on the season.
The matchup has plenty of star power on both sides of the contest, so let’s sort through the many options and pick out the top player prop bets for Sunday night:
Pistons at Clippers Best Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook
Cade Cunningham over 42.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-121)
Cunningham and the Pistons will look to bounce back from their loss in Utah by putting on a show on Sunday night. Cunningham has been impressive as a high-volume producer.
In his 28 games this season, Cunningham has averaged 26.5 points, 9.6 rebounds and 6.3 rebounds for 42.4 PRA (points, rebounds and assists). Over his last six games, he averaged 24.8 points, 11.5 assists and 7.0 rebounds for 43.3 PRA. He has gone over this prop line in four of those six games, including each of his last two games, which were both on the road.
He had 23 points, 14 assists and seven rebounds against the Kings on Tuesday. He was even better on Friday against the Jazz with 29 points, 17 assists and five rebounds in 37 minutes in the team’s two-point defeat.
On Sunday, Cade should be set up for another big game since the Clippers have allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to point guards this season.
Brook Lopez over 4.5 rebounds (-111)
The Clippers will be without Ivica Zubac (ankle) for this contest and for the next several weeks. In his absence, Lopez has returned to a much more involved role.
Lopez turned back the clock with nine three-pointers on Friday, racking up 31 points in 33 minutes in a win over the Blazers. He hadn’t been anywhere near that kind of scoring production in any previous game this season and is still averaging just 7.1 points per game. Rather than attack his volatile scoring line, let’s instead focus on his work on the boards.
In each of his last four games, BroLo has at least five rebounds. He played 25, 27 and 33 minutes in the three games since Zubac’s injury, and if he keeps getting so many minutes without Big Z, Lopez should have no trouble hauling in at least five boards.
Jaden Ivey over 7.5 points (-126)
Ivey has played off the Pistons’ bench since returning from his fractured fibula. He’s not back to full speed yet, but he’s been chipping in solid scoring in the second unit.
In his 16 games, he is averaging 8.2 points per game, and he has gone over this prop line in seven of his last eight games, scoring 11 points against the Jazz on Friday and 11 points against the Blazers at the start of this trip.
Ivey’s workload will likely start to ramp up as the season continues, and in this matchup against the Clippers, he should be able to score at least eight points once again.
Bonus Parlay Pick: Isaiah Stewart over 13.5 Points + Rebounds (-106)
If you’re looking to use these props to create a Same Game Parlay (SGP) or as part of an SGPx, one other leg you can add to the mix is the over on Stewart’s combined points and rebounds. The four legs in this post combine to be an +1100 SGP, as you can see below.
Stewart has at least 14 points and rebounds in six of his last eight games, and he and Jalen Duren should find success against the Clippers’ injury-depleted frontcourt.
