Fresh off a successful All-Star Game appearance, Detroit Pistons star Cade Cunningham is getting some love from the cameras off the court, as well.
Cunningham is on the cover of the latest edition of GQ Magazine, as released by GQ over their social media accounts on Thursday, Feb. 19. The accompanying article proclaims Cunningham as “the NBA’s surging new superstar,” with a profile of Cunningham both at work in Detroit and at home in Dallas.
This isn’t the first time Cunningham has been featured on a major magazine cover. Cunningham was previously on the cover of SLAM 255 in April 2025, revealing the team’s current City Edition uniforms in the process, and was also featured on the cover of SLAM 238 ahead of his rookie season in Detroit.
Cunningham is having arguably his best season with the Pistons, leading the team with 25.3 points and 9.6 assists per game over 47 games in his fifth season. He was also named to his second-straight All-Star team and helped the USA Stars win the new-look event on Sunday, Feb. 15.
Though Cunningham has gotten the most attention of any Pistons player so far this season, he wasn’t the most recent Piston on a magazine cover before Thursday.
That title goes to center Jalen Duren, who graced the cover of SLAM 260 in January. Duren has had a breakout season in his fourth year in Detroit, averaging 17.7 points and 10.4 rebounds per game while being named to his first All-Star team.
Both Cunningham and Duren have led the Pistons to the NBA’s best record by the 2026 All-Star Break and look to resume their exemplary performance over the Eastern Conference Thursday night against the New York Knicks.
