Pixel 11 Pro is thinner, but mostly the same in first leak [Gallery]

Right on schedule following yesterday’s Pixel 11 leak, the Pixel 11 Pro has shown up in leaked renders that show how, for the most part, this is the same phone for the third year in a row.

Google told everyone to expect new Pixel designs “every 2-3 years” and, as the Pixel 11 series starts to surface, that absolutely seems to be true.

The base Pixel 11 leaked yesterday with the same core design, but two notable changes in the camera bar and the thickness, with Pixel 11 Pro now following the same pattern. Pixel 11 Pro Fold is also expected to be a bit thinner.

Leaker @OnLeaks has revealed CAD-based renders of the Pixel 11 Pro – the smaller one, not the XL – through Android Headlines. The article itself is overwhelmingly full of speculation (and bezel talk), but the renders and dimensions offer some insight on what to expect from Google’s next compact flagship.

First and foremost, and as seen on the base model, the camera bar is now all-glass, going back to the design seen on Pixel 6. As our Will Sattelberg points out, Google originally seemed to shift from that design due to issues with light refraction, so it’ll be interesting to see how things work out this time.

The Pro’s temperature sensor also seems to have gone missing, but it’s hard to know that for certain, given we’re looking at an all-glass camera bar – it could be hiding, and that LED looks very large. That said, a removal wouldn’t be shocking at all.

The other change is with the thickness. Pixel 11 Pro is 8.4mm in thickness, down from the 8.5mm of the Pixel 10 Pro and the Pixel 9 Pro before it. The full dimensions come in at 152.7 x 71.8 x 8.4mm, a hair shorter and narrower than the Pixel 10 Pro.

It stands to reason we’ll see similar changes on the Pixel 11 Pro XL when those renders inevitably show up in the not-too-distant future, but overall it sounds like the Pixel 11 series won’t be a huge change in terms of hardware. Pixel 10 got away with that thanks to changes such as the addition of Qi2, but it’ll be interesting to see how the public reacts to a Pixel 11 series that doesn’t change all that much on the design front. That said, there are rumors of other upgrades on Pixel 11…
