‘Pizza Movie’ Has a Hilariously Grisly New Way to Say ‘This Is Your Brain on Drugs’ (Exclusive)

It’s not 4/20 yet, but you can get the stoner holiday started early with Pizza Movie, which hits Hulu this week. Gaten Matarazzo (Stranger Things) and Sean Giambrone (The Goldbergs, Solar Opposites) play college roommates who must navigate the reality-bending effects of an experimental psychedelic drug. In this exclusive clip, Groundhog Day meets Scanners as the characters realize they’ve got to be cautious about what they say, lest they suffer the splatter-y consequences.

(The language is NSFW, so don’t blast this one in your office.)

Our foul-mouthed heroes sure are lucky that a reset button is included in this particular feature of their drug trip. What that clip doesn’t tell you is that if these dudes don’t get their pizza, they could face a very permanent end. But they’ve got to make it to the elevator first!

Here’s the official synopsis for Pizza Movie: “A shy college student and his reckless roommate set out on a simple mission to grab pizza; but after a strange dose of a mind-bending experimental drug, they’re thrust into a chaotic night of absurd encounters, wild hallucinations, and unexpected revelations that could change their lives forever.”

The rest of the cast includes Lulu Wilson, Jack Martin, Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Marcus Scribner, Caleb Hearon, Sarah Sherman, Justin Cooley, Kevin Matthew Reyes, Adam Herschman, and Lucas Zelnick.

Pizza Movie is written and directed by Brian McElhaney and Nick Kocher and is produced by American High‘s Jeremy Garelick and Will Phelps and All Things Comedy‘s Billy Rosenberg. Jason Zaro, Molle DeBartolo, and Max Butler are also producers, and Gaten Matarazzo is an executive producer.

Pizza Movie hits Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ starting April 3. Have your munchies on standby!
