On top of that, it has a stunning 4K mini-LED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. In short, this laptop is pretty much the best of the best, and while it’s still pricey, to say the least, we think this $500 discount still goes a long way if you’re looking for a great deal on a seriously premium laptop.

The RTX 5090 is the best graphics card you can get in a laptop right now, and it’s excellent for QHD/4K gaming and demanding creative tasks, like 3D rendering and video editing. It has over 10,000 CUDA cores and a whopping 24GB of GDDR7 memory, and features 4th-gen ray tracing cores and 5th-gen tensor cores, for a significant boost in both gaming and AI performance. For creatives, it’s a portable powerhouse, too, especially as it has exclusive features like Nvidia Broadcast and 9th-gen Nvidia Encoders, which deliver better quality video more efficiently, improve exporting times, and much more.
Intel Core Ultra 9 285HX processor
This is a seriously powerful processor often found paired with the top mobile GPUs, like the RTX 5090. It boasts a huge core and thread count of 24 and 24, which allows it to smash even the most demanding multitasking workloads, and makes it ideal for streaming, video editing, and more. It also has an impressive 5.5GHz boost clock speed and 36MB L3 cache, which allow it to push out high fps at 1440p and 4K easily, with low frame latency. 4K display
4K screens aren’t always standard with RTX 5090 laptops, even though the card itself is 4K-ready. Much of the time, you’ll see QHD+ screens instead, which get you using a lower resolution, but in turn make the most out of their higher refresh rates. This MSI laptop’s screen is top-tier for gaming, creative work, and productivity, providing stunning 4K clarity with a high 120Hz refresh rate. On top of that, it’s mini-LED, so you’ve got outstanding 1000 nits brightness, and DCI-P3 100% color, making it ideal for daytime usage and design work.
Things to consider
As mentioned, not every RTX 5090 laptop has a 4K screen, and it absolutely drives up the price. If you’re looking for similar specs, but want to save a bit more cash, I’d recommend exploring some of the QHD+ options instead. For me, there’s a better pick for gaming on the go, as you can really make the most out of the RTX 5090 mobile, and then simply plug into a 4K monitor if you want higher resolution.
