49-inch, 1000R display
1000R is considered a fairly steep curve for a gaming monitor, and it’s designed with immersion and, to some extent, eye comfort in mind. It’s great for feeling like you’re ‘in the game’, and works very well with open-world titles and simulators, especially, and is notably great for racing games, too. On the productivity front, a screen this size gives you a huge amount of space to work with, which is good for video editors, gaming, while having chats, or other applications open, and more.
240Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time
This is a very high refresh rate, which is going to allow for up to 240fps. That’s high enough for competitive gaming, but since this monitor is too massive to be optimal for that, it’s really there to keep everything looking super smooth. You’ve got a 1ms response time, which helps to reduce motion blur and ghosting, too.
Dual QHD resolution
This is 5120 x 1440 pixels, so it’s basically like slamming two QHD monitors together, in a good way. The obvious benefits here are that you’re getting 1440p resolution across the screen, without any loss of picture quality, but the big bonus is that your graphics card doesn’t need to be the absolute best to run games at this resolution, as it’s less demanding than 4K.
Core-Sync technology and Core Lighting Plus
Samsung gaming monitors, at least the premium models, have their own aRGB lighting technology, which can be synced to what’s happening on-screen or customized to whatever you’d like. Things to consider
For the price, this is a pretty amazing deal, in all honesty, so there’s not a whole lot to consider aside from its age. This monitor was released in 2024, and while that wasn’t a million years ago, you may feel like putting your money towards something more recent, or if you have your eye on this one, taking a look to see if you can save a bit more on a refurbished model instead. There are also other alternatives from Samsung that you may be more interested in, such as some of the QD-OLED models. These are a touch more expensive, but will provide more lifelike picture quality. Keep in mind, though, that they’re not super bright, and therefore they’re better suited to dimmer environments.
