Tequila was back on the menu, personal memories of 2025 were recounted, and puppet versions of Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper — beloved co-hosts of CNN’s “New Year’s Eve Live” holiday special — were showed off as the pair bid farewell to the year and rang in a new one just a few days ago, during one of the most popular New Year’s Eve broadcasts on cable television, averaging 3.7 million viewers from 12 to 12:30 a.m. And, after all was said and done and it was time for the charming friends-slash-colleagues to sign off, the internet embarked on a wild chase after one thing and one thing only: the glossy, light-blue puffer jacket Cohen was wearing that night.

The r/findfashion Reddit thread boomed, with hundreds of upvotes on a screenshot of the as-of-then-mysterious puffer, which fashion sleuths quickly ID’d as Mackage’s Kent-Glo High-Gloss Hooded Down Jacket in the pastel Provincial Blue colorway. An even more popular Reddit post, under the r/bravo thread, featured comments about the hosts’ endearing behavior, interspersed with references to the hot-ticket item that’s now also trending on TikTok, with influencers like style editor Bella Gerard replicating the look courtesy of a close match: Aritzia’s The Super Puff.

No shortage of social media users also decided to stay true to Cohen’s brand of choice, sharing that they immediately rushed to score the Mackage piece while all of its sizes were still in stock. What are you waiting for?

Founded in 1999, Mackage is a Canadian luxury outerwear brand famous for everything from its two-in-one parkas to perennially stylish wool coats. The Kent-Glo in particular is a bestseller that’s loved by everyone who lays their eyes upon it, including Emmy Award–winning producers and media darlings. It features a removable hood (Cohen went sans hood on the chilly night), an endlessly attractive high-gloss finish, contrasting rib knit cuffs, and multiple pockets for stashing your daily (or nightly) must-haves with ease, be it a mini tequila bottle in honor of Cohen himself or a lip balm for beating back wintertime dryness. What’s more, the pockets here are insulated, too, and Mackage ensured the item has proper ventilation throughout. The coat protects against temperatures as low as -13 degrees, meaning it will be your best friend during days on which you can hardly feel your toes.

As for how Cohen managed to so effectively style the Mackage Kent-Glo High-Gloss Hooded Down Jacket — captivating throngs of viewers with his effortless, casual-cool aesthetic? He paired it up with a gray turtleneck, curating quite a different getup than Cooper’s all-black look, which the latter topped off with a puffer vest. Our own editors recommend teaming your new, ball drop–inspired purchase with a thermal undershirt (top picks include the Under Armour Men’s HeatGear Compression Long-Sleeve and the HeatTech Ultra Warm T-Shirt from Uniqlo), plus pants that aren’t too matchy-matchy when it comes to the jacket’s true-blue hue.

One thing’s for certain: Pressing “add to cart” on what might’ve been live television’s most show-stopping accessory during New Year’s Eve will earn you instant bragging rights, signaling that you’re in the know of both today’s hottest fashion trends and key pop culture moments.

Who knew 2026’s first style icon would be an unfiltered, wickedly funny 57-year-old from St. Louis, Missouri?
