It’s the start of a new year and a new month, and that means Prime Video just became home to a ton of new shows and movies for us to stream. Sure, more choice is great, but it can always mean narrowing down your choices is a bit of a chore.

If you rely on what’s trending on Prime Video (or any of the best streaming services) to make your streaming choices a little easier, you run the risk of stumbling onto a subpar show or movie. After all, just because something’s popular, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll measure up. That’s precisely why I keep a close eye on what’s in Prime Video’s top 10 movies charts, and regularly highlight just a handful of worthy watches.
