Q-C Engineering and Science Council awards Camanche student | Local News


Braxton Laurion, Camanche High School senior, earned a scholarship from the Quad City Engineering and Science Council for his outstanding overall high school achievements. Laurion is ranked No. 1 in his class with a grade point average of 4.0. He had an ACT score of 33. Laurion is also the president of Camanche’s chapter of the National Honor Society and is the senior’s class vice-president of the student council. He was the drum major and a section leader in the band as well as being a section leader in the choir. He holds an office in the school’s Thespian Troupe. Laurion was the captain of the school Quiz Bowl team. He is active in Key Club, speech, drama, and bowling. He plans to attend Iowa State University and study chemical engineeringy and study chemical engineering.
