Rainy weather is forecast for the Christmas holidays in Greece, with conditions deteriorating from Tuesday night. Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected initially in western regions, particularly the Ionian Islands.
On Wednesday, severe weather will gradually extend to the rest of western Greece, parts of central and northern mainland Greece, as well as the northern and eastern Aegean islands.
The intense weather conditions are expected to weaken in western areas from Wednesday night into Thursday, while conditions across the remaining regions are forecast to improve gradually during the afternoon on Christmas Day.
