He came off the bench again on Sunday as Celtic rallied from 2-0 to claim a dramatic 3-2 win over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.
However, the midfielder will not be involved against Stuttgart on Thursday night, having not been included in the squad list for Celtic.
The midfielder was not fully signed and announced as a player before the deadline to submit the 25-man squad for the knockout round and is therefore unable to take part.

Fellow new recruits Joel Mvuka and Benjamin Athur are also not involved in the Europa League squad for Celtic.
The three new players included for Celtic are Tomas Cvancara, Junior Adamu and Julian Araujo.
Celtic host Stuttgart in the first leg of the knockout play-off on Thursday, February 19. They will then travel to Germany for the second leg to compete for a spot in the last 16 of the UEFA competition.
Progressing into the next round would see Celtic earn a UEFA performance payment of €1.75m.
