Greetings Heroes, Villains, and all in-between!
Welcome back to another seminar on the cultural practices and social norms of Turians on Palaven!
Wait—That isn’t what you’re here for? Hmm… Oh! Right, right, apologies, my dear viewers…
Ahem!
Welcome to my itty-bitty talk on the happenings in the gaming world. Let’s dive into the next upcoming feature:
The brand new DLC that’s soon to arrive for Elden Ring: Nightreign
The Forsaken Hollows
*Queue dramatic music, clashes of thunder, ambient whooshing of wind*
Yes, that’s right, my fellow Nightfarers, hark upon my words and return to the shattered world of Elden Ring, and let thy wrath be felt upon thy enemies once more…
Oh, yes! You heard it here first, folks! (Definitely not anywhere else pffff…)
Elden Ring: Nightreign is getting its first DLC, which is scheduled to be released next month, on the 5th of December 2025.
Oh, how exciting! I can almost hear my screams of despair sounding out once more as I search that evil castle of EVIL, only to find damn giants yeeting pots at me and a Bell Bearing Hunter lurking under it yet again to ruin one of my favourite EXP and item hot spots.
What next? A Black Blade Kindred is the boss at the top as well?
My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined.
Anyway, away from my own cries of mercy from an unmerciful foe. It’s super duper exciting that Nightreign is finally getting a DLC; that means new skins, new weapons, new zones and bosses and (drumroll please) new heroes! If the trailer is anything to go by, that seems to be exactly that!
Yeah. And all the normal goodies and treats and delights that come with a DLC, too, but that usually also means that there will be a plethora of bugs-galore and balancing issues upon release.
That’s not a hit on FromSoftware, that’s just a fact.
Now, more on the trailer. For those of you following the story that Nightreign does indeed have, what does this all mean in the grand scheme of things?
The DLC appears to take place… After the end? How can that be if the Nightfarers are stuck in a perpetual cycle that is doomed to be forever repeated? An endless night to be bathed in light, only to yet again usher in another long night?
The narrator questions if this is fate at work yet again, alongside claiming that what we see is the aftermath of the long night, and prior to that, we hear someone cursing a potential adversary called the Dreglord, accompanied by a VERY spooky helmet-looking thingymajig…
Each of the characters follows their own paths and goals and hopes and dreams, like that of Duchess and Wylder, with a bitter-sweet sacrifice.
Where then does this new zone/world take place? Where will we journey next? Is there a greater darkness beyond Heolstor?
I have no clue, but what I do know is that I cannot wait to hop back into that game again when the DLC drops.
Where my fellow Hawk Tuah Guardian mains at?
I better see more clutch montages from all my fellow bird-bros.
Speaking of mains, with the two new Nightfarers that appeared in the trailer, seems we have a new frontliner like Duchess with a similar vibe to Revenant, and a new spell-flinger like Recluse, with a mix of melee too?
I’m more keen on trying the former, but if Nightreign’s main story continues with these two new champions, I’ll have to play as both regardless to unlock more of the story.
And that new map? Damn if it isn’t giving me Final Fantasy x World of Warcraft vibes, it honestly looks drop-dead gorgeous.
All in all, I’m hyped and yet again diving back into the lore rabbit hole of Elden Ring and Elden Ring: Nightreign.
Well, Nightfarers? Wilt thou be maidenless, or wilt thy flame of ambition burn bright once more?
