Riverside Drive to close Monday for RiverBeat Music Festival preparations


The closure will begin on April 6, and City of Memphis officials will provide updates as needed.

MEMPHIS, Tennessee — Riverside Drive will be closed starting Monday morning, April 6, to accommodate preparations for the RiverBeat Music Festival.

City of Memphis officials provided the following closure details:

  • Riverside Drive will be closed between Beale Street and Georgia Avenue
  • Closure begins Monday, April 6, between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m.
  • Detours will be clearly marked
  • Pedestrian access to riverfront amenities will remain open

The 2026 Riverbeat Music Festival is set to take place from May 1 to May 3, 2026. According to a press release from the city, updates on the closures will be provided as needed between then and now.

Officials with the city are encouraging drivers to plan alternate routes and allow additional travel time in the downtown area.

The annual music festival, set at Tom Lee Park, draws in talents across generations for three days of entertainment, fun and community.

Performers will include The Red Clay Strays and Salt-N-Pepa on May 1, Wu-Tang Clan, Marshmello, and Ice Cube on May 2, and Dave Matthews Band, along with T-Pain and Wale, on the final day of the festival.
