Mega Evolution—Perfect Order is on the horizon, introducing new Pokémon and Trainers to the Pokémon Trading Card Game. The pulse of the city beats in sync with the Pokémon and people who call it home, and it’s time for us to meet the residents you can find when you get your hands on the expansion. Today, we’re sharing the exciting debut of Mega Zygarde as a Pokémon ex, Rosa and Serperior as two unique cards with compelling synergy, and a couple of cards certain to excite in battle.
Shinji Kanda stuns us again with a gorgeous rendition of Talonflame, flapping its wings among both flora and flame. Its Sky Hunt Ability is a heater too, allowing you to burn a card in your opponent’s hand if you’re lucky on a coin flip.
Recently discovered in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Mega Zygarde stuns as a Mega Evolution Pokémon ex for the first time in the Pokémon TCG. This ultra rare Mega Zygarde ex is impressive both in appearance, with Mega Zygarde flanked by a silhouette of Zygarde, and in terms of attacking power, with Gaia Wave and Nullifying Zero threatening massive damage. These attacks look especially difficult to power up, but there are plenty of cards that can help Mega Zygarde ex reach its apex in Mega Evolution—Perfect Order.
Type-specific Special Energy is making a big comeback in Mega Evolution—Perfect Order, and Telepathic
Energy is leading the charge. When you attach Telepathic
Energy to a
Pokémon, it not only provides
Energy but also allows you to search out two Basic
Pokémon and put them on your Bench. An Energy attachment for the turn plus a search effect you’d normally get from a Trainer card? Yeah, we’re psyched.
Serperior is looking as majestic as ever, and it certainly has the attacks to match. Its Regal Command attack can do up to 120 damage for just
if you have six Pokémon in play, making it a superb option for low investment. It can strike even harder with its Solar Coiling attack, which ordinarily does 100 damage for
, but 150 more damage when Rosa’s Encouragement is in the discard pile. Rosa and Serperior have always been an iconic duo, and you won’t be surprised to see that Rosa’s Encouragement has some additional synergy with this fully evolved first partner Pokémon.
Have you ever seen an artwork so sweet? Rosa enjoys some adorable Pikachu-themed ice cream against a bright, colorful background brilliantly illustrated by Iori Suzuki. It feels like a day at an amusement park, and we couldn’t be more enthused—or so we thought!
Rosa’s Encouragement also has an exciting effect that can turn the tide of battle once you’re behind on Prize cards. When you have more Prize cards remaining than your opponent, you can play Rosa’s Encouragement to attach up to two Energy cards from your discard pile to one of your Stage 2 Pokémon. In addition to fulfilling Serperior’s Solar Coiling attack’s damage boost while in the discard pile, it sets up the Stage 2 Pokémon to attack in the first place—that’s what we call a combo.
You’ll find these and over 120 new cards when the Mega Evolution—Perfect Order expansion releases March 27, 2026.
