Runway Shoe Highlights from Milan Fashion Week

Milan Fashion Week drew to a close on Monday after a flurry of brands showcased their visions for the fall 2026 season. Fans of quirky footwear can get excited, since a number of labels got creative in the shoe realm with whimsical and edgy designs.

Marni, Fendi and Prada, for example, embraced layering heels with socks — and both Marni and Prada showcased heels with lacing at the vamp. Furry and feathery looks were also plentiful, from Fendi’s slingbacks to Gucci’s horsebit mule to Prada’s lace-up knee-high boot to Bottega Veneta’s pointed heel, among other similarly embellished styles seen on the runways.

In another standout shoe moment, Etro debuted a collaboration with Birkenstock, a reimagination of the Boston clog with embroidered accents and custom Western buckles.
