Rusk County 4-H Fashion Show highlights youth creativity, style

Young designers took center stage as the Rusk County 4-H Fashion Show was held Friday, April 27, at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office meeting room.
Participants from all three age divisions showcased their skills and creativity before a panel of judges, demonstrating what they’ve learned through the 4-H Fashion and Interior Design project.
The annual fashion show provides youth with an opportunity to shine while developing practical skills such as fabric selection, sewing, sustainable fashion practices and smart shopping. In addition to technical knowledge, participants build confidence, poise and professionalism as they present their work, skills that extend far beyond the runway.
Several Rusk County 4-H members earned top placements and will advance to the District V 4-H Fashion Show Contest, scheduled for May 2 at Panola College.
In the Junior Division, Everly White qualified in the Buying Category with a Semi-Formal/Formal entry, while Naomi Patterson advanced in the Buying Category with her “Fantastic Fashions Under $25” selection.
The Intermediate Division will be represented by Hadley White in the Construction category for Everyday Living, along with Caraline Oliver, who qualified in Construction with her “Upcycle Your Style” design.
In the Senior Division, Abigail Clifton earned advancement in the Construction category with a Theatre/Costume entry. Macey Rutherford qualified in the Buying category with a Semi-Formal/Formal selection, and Trinity Patterson advanced in Construction for Everyday Living.
Organizers praised all participants for their hard work and dedication, noting the wide range of creativity and effort displayed throughout the event.
As these young designers prepare for district competition, they carry with them not only their projects, but also the skills and confidence gained through the 4-H program, setting the stage for continued success.
