One of Alienware’s top 34-inch gaming monitor is currently $100 off, and reduced from $799.99 to $699.99 on Amazon, and it’s at its lowest price of the year, too. You’re getting a lot for your money here, as this is premium monitor with exceptional high build quality, premium aesthetics, and top-tier performance. It features a QD-OLED panel, 240Hz refresh rate, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, and has a subtle, but immerssive, 1800R curve. It’s also WQHD, which keeps pixel density high, but also means you don’t have to have a super expensive GPU to be able to make the most out of this monitor. On top of that, its color is very impressive, and accurate enough to be ideal for creative professionals, video editors, and content creators.

34-inch 240Hz QD-OLED Curved Gaming Monitor – AW3425DW – 34.2-inch WQHD (3440 x 1440) 240Hz 0.03ms Display, 1800R Curve, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, VESA AdaptiveSync, VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 400

Key features of this Alienware 34-inch gaming monitor

QD-OLED

QD-OLEDs are the way to go if you’re looking for lifelike picture quailty. Due to their self-emmissve pixels, which can turn off individually, you’re getting what’s known as ‘infinite contrast’ ratios. This means that blacks look super deep and inky, which makes everything look more realistic and atmospheric.

240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time

This refresh rate is high enough to allow for 240fps, which is great if you’re playing fast-paced games or playing competitively. It has a lower than standard response time, too, which means motion blur and ghosting will be reduced significantly, allowing you to keep track of what’s happening on screen.

1800R curve and 34 inches

A 1800R curve is less aggressive than your typical 800R curved gaming monitor, and it’s designed to give to subtly increase immerssion, without making the monitor sub-par for other uses, like design, video editing, or watching content. It comes in at 34 inches, which is also big enough that it’ll give you a wider field of view, but not too massive that it’ll dominate your setup, or be too expensive.

AMD FreeSync Premium Pro

This is the top-tier of AMD’s adaptive sync technology, and it’s basically designed to handle HDR gaming much better than the lower two tiers, but still has the anti-stuttering and screen tearing capabilities of FreeSync, plus the low frame rate compenstation of FreeSync Premium. In short, it’s great for QD-OLED monitors, where people play in HDR at high framerates.

Color range and accuracy

This monitor has 99.3% DCI-P3 color and Delta E<2 color accuracy, which means you can use it for professional level design and editing work. It also means that films, games, and other content will look vibrant and lifelike, too.

Things to consider

This is a great monitor, no doubt, but as I always say when it comes to QD-OLEDs, make sure you’re cool with it being slightly on the dimmer-side. Since QD-OLEDs aren’t traditionally backlit like LED or mini-LED monitors, they tend to have lower general brightness. This makes them fantastic for lower-light environments, but not ideal for rooms with loads of windows, for example. The best alternative is to potentially go for a WOLED, which are slightly brighter, or a mini-LED monitor instead. Many of these go on sale, and right now, monitor deals are rolling in thick and fast. Check out our top picks below to see what’s out there.
