S.W.A.M.P. Wander raises $40K for youth science | GB Daily

The S.W.A.M.P. Wander event on Nov. 1 raised more than $40,000 to support the Swamp Water and Me Program at Big Cypress National Preserve, drawing more than 700 attendees to the annual fall fundraiser. Sponsored by Friends of Big Cypress National Preserve, the newly formed nonprofit led by photographer Clyde Butcher and community leaders, the event aims to increase awareness and financial support for one of Florida’s most significant natural landscapes. Funds from this first fundraiser will help ensure local students continue to access hands-on science education in the preserve. Friends of Big Cypress works to support conservation programs, strengthen community partnerships and promote long-term stewardship of the preserve.
