The Sacramento Kings have had a busy weekend.
Hours after signing former seventh-overall pick Killian Hayes to a 10-day contract, the Kings announced they have signed 2022 first-round pick Patrick Baldwin Jr. to a two-way contract.
Baldwin, who has spent parts of four NBA seasons with the Golden State Warriors, Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Clippers, and Philadelphia 76ers, is an intriguing prospect at just 23 years old.
The seven-foot forward has struggled to break through at the NBA level, but was in the midst of a strong G League season with the San Diego Clippers, averaging 21.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.2 steals per game over 18 appearances.

Baldwin will occupy the third and final two-way contract on the Sacramento Kings’ roster, filling the opening that was left when rookie center Dylan Cardwell was converted to a standard deal.
The seven-foot, 220-pound forward will join guards Isaiah Stevens and Daeqwon Plowden on two-way deals, but it’s likely that the UW-Milwaukee product will see the floor during Sacramento’s final 25 games.
The Sacramento Kings (12-46) are currently on a franchise-record-setting 16-game losing streak as they look to add a significant building block in this summer’s loaded NBA Draft.
Sacramento is thin at the forward spots, with Keegan Murray, DeMar DeRozan, Precious Achiuwa, and Doug McDermott acting as the team’s only options, with De’Andre Hunter (eye) ruled out for the remainder of the season.
Center Domantas Sabonis (knee) and guard Zach LaVine (hand) have also been ruled out for the rest of the 2025-26 season, meaning the Kings will be focusing on the youth movement the rest of the way.
