The Sacramento Kings are bringing in two former first-round draft picks to round out their roster after losing a number of players due to injuries.
A league source told The Sacramento Bee the Kings plan to sign Killian Hayes to a 10-day contract, confirming a report from HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto. In addition, the Kings announced they have signed Patrick Baldwin Jr. to a two-way contract.
Hayes, 24, is a 6-foot-5 point guard who turned pro in France at age 16. He came to the NBA when the Detroit Pistons selected him with the seventh overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft.
Hayes spent four seasons in Detroit before briefly joining the Brooklyn Nets in 2024-25. Hayes has started 150 of 216 games over five NBA seasons, averaging 8.1 points, 5.2 assists and 1.9 steals while shooting 38.3% from the field and 28.1% from 3-point range.
Hayes started the current season with the G League Cleveland Charge, averaging 23.1 points, 8.3 assists and 1.7 steals while shooting 47% from the field.
Baldwin, 23, is a 7-foot forward who was selected by the Golden State Warriors with the 28th overall pick in the 2022 NBA draft. Baldwin has appeared in 96 games over four seasons with the Warriors, Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Clippers and Philadelphia 76ers, averaging 3.7 points and 2.0 rebounds.
Baldwin has played 18 games for the G League San Diego Clippers this season. He was averaging 21.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.2 steals.
Coming out of high school, Baldwin was a five-star recruit and one of the top players in the Class of 2021. He reportedly turned down offers from Duke, Kansas, Michigan, North Carolina and other schools to play for his father at Milwaukee.
