Sailor Piece Evolution Fragment: How to Get It

The Evolution Fragment is one of Sailor Piece‘s most punishing late-game drops, and the community is feeling it. With a drop rate sitting between 0.55% and 1.16%, this single item is the gatekeeper standing between players and the game’s most powerful sword upgrade. There is exactly one way to get it, and it requires a lot of patience.

The only source that matters

The Evolution Fragment drops exclusively from the True Manipulator boss, which spawns in the Soul Dominion area. No chests, no NPC grinding, no alternative methods. If you want this item, you are farming this boss and only this boss.

Accessing Soul Dominion is not straightforward either. The area stays locked until you collect all six Hogyoku Fragments and complete the Hogyoku mission on Hollow Island. That alone signals this is deep end-game territory, not something a fresh account stumbles into.

Summoning the True Manipulator

Once you are in Soul Dominion, the process runs through the True Manipulator Summoner NPC at the center of the area. Interacting with this NPC (press E) opens the summoning menu, where you select a difficulty and submit Chrysalis Sigils as the entry cost.

Those sigils come from defeating Quincy enemies on the island, so expect to grind those before you can even attempt the boss. After submitting the required sigils, the boss spawns and the fight begins. One important threshold to keep in mind: you need to deal at least 10% of the boss’s total damage to qualify for the drop pool at all. Spectating or dealing chip damage will not cut it.

What the drop rate actually means in practice

A sub-1% drop rate on a boss that requires a consumable currency to summon is a significant time investment. At the midpoint of the drop range, you are statistically looking at roughly 100-plus attempts before a guaranteed drop, though RNG can swing that in either direction.

The key here is stacking every available advantage before farming. The Sailor Piece patch notes confirm that the luck stat directly influences drop outcomes, so building around it matters. Equipping higher-tier titles, spending points in the Skill Tree’s luck nodes, and unlocking weapon traits that boost luck all push the odds upward.

Building maximum damage output also shortens each run, which means more attempts per session. The game’s Blessing mechanic at Shibuya Station can further amplify sword and fighting style damage, making each fight faster and more efficient.

What you actually unlock with it

The grind is real, but so is the payoff. The Evolution Fragment feeds into two of the most significant progression milestones in Sailor Piece.

Unlocking the True Manipulator Sword requires 1x Evolution Fragment alongside a long list of materials: 3x Transcendent Core, 8x Divinity Essence, 15x Fusion Ring, 75x Chrysalis Sigil, 35,000 Gems, ownership of the base Manipulator Sword, and the Transcendent Being title. That combination alone tells you this is one of the game’s top-tier weapons.

Reaching Ascension Level 9 costs 2x Evolution Fragments, plus Azure Hearts, dungeon completions, and boss rush clears. Two fragments at that drop rate means the grind doubles for players pushing the ascension track.

The grind is the point

Here’s the thing: Sailor Piece is clearly designed to make the Evolution Fragment feel earned. The locked zone, the consumable summon cost, the razor-thin drop rate, the multi-material unlock requirements. Every layer is intentional friction for a late-game item that genuinely upgrades your build ceiling.

Players who optimize luck stats, run higher difficulty spawns, and keep their damage output high will shorten the path considerably. Those who go in underprepared will feel every one of those failed rolls.
